Claude W. Skelton, Jr.

Biography

By 1968, Claude Skelton earned his B.A., B.S., and J.D. from the University of Arkansas and was admitted to practice before the State of Arkansas. He then spent more than 30 years as an attorney for the USDA and oversaw the legal office which represented the agency in several states. In this capacity, Claude represented the government in various types of civil litigation, including cases involving employment law, real property issues, agricultural issues, fraud, administrative law and proceedings, maritime law, and various other areas of law.

After retiring from the USDA, Claude wanted to find a way to use the knowledge he had acquired as an “insider” with the federal government to help ordinary people in navigating the complexities of dealing with a huge and intimidating government bureaucracy. Thus, Skelton & Stevens Legal Group was founded. Claude’s extensive experience as an “insider” is an extremely valuable asset in representing claimants before the Social Security Administration.
